With our specialist skills in stainless steel…
We are often called upon by those in the food and drink manufacturing sector looking for an easy to clean and hygienic solution. These requests cover anything from a conveyor system through to material handling and access solutions.
Through word of mouth and the successful completion of a job at another customer we were approached by a brewery based in Birmingham, after they were impressed with a job we had carried out at another site.
The drinks company had recently turned one of its warehouses into a bottling line but required an access platform above the mezzanine in which the conveyor was situated.
After initial changes to the design work from the client, our Project Engineer Michael Sinclair custom designed and drew up the blueprints.
The customer provided a basic block model which included a 25m mezzanine floor with a stainless steel frame that was located above the warehouse floor around 4m in height, as well as another mezzanine platform above it, which was situated just below roof level, allowing the operators to fit in the machinery where the floor below it had ran out of floor space.
From initial design work to finished job, the process took two weeks, just before the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
Due to the client being in the food and drink sector, the Covid-19 pandemic did not affect operational downtime, so supporting the key workers during an unprecedented time was a positive outcome.
We applied our experience of working closely with the food and drink sector to ensure that the installations met health and safety standards.
